For researchers and data analysts, the CINA CDR™ is a well-designed, easy to navigate repository of standardized data that allows for efficient and effective data extraction and analysis. Widely used in research, the CINA CDR™ is routinely used for clinical data abstraction in research studies, particularly comparative effectiveness research where “samples of the whole” allow for robust analysis at a highly granular level.
The CINA CDR™ is also the technology infrastructure of the Distributed Network for Ambulatory Research in Therapeutics (DARTNet), an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) funded project focused on the feasibility of a federated network of electronic health record (EHR) data repository that allows for custom queries for analysis and virtually real-time data collection. This project is gaining a high level of respect and attention among many federal research entities.
In addition to providing a source for standardized and codified data (SNOMED, ICD9, CPT, UMLS, LOINC, etc), the robust nature of CINA’s tools create dynamic and adaptive dataset, supporting complex research and statistical analysis.
